Two approved GCE Advanced Level subjects together with three additional Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) subjects including English A (English Language) Successful completion of the one year Preliminary Science programme in the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences of the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill and Mona Campuses)
Notes:
Only Grades I and II of the CXC General Proficiency Level are regarded as passmarks

Pass marks in six Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) units, including four pass marks in subjects with SA HG subject equivalents as well as a pass mark in English A (English Language)

Teachers’ College Diploma awarded after three years of full-time studies in an approved Teacher Training institution and issued by the Joint Board for Teacher Education (JBTE) of the School of Education of the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus)
